To achieve peace and harmony has been the eternal hankering of human beings, ever since the dawn of civilisation. Ancient rishis in the Vedic period have invoked peace in the form of hymns and mantras, chanting Aum Shanti, Shanti, Shanti — Peace, Peace, Peace. Essentially, peace is a subject of the inner mind.
Individual human mind is part of the universal mind, the Supramental. According to Indic scriptures, every individual, and every cell in the human body, across the world, represents the whole universe. Scientists today call these the microcosm and macrocosm.
Abalanced, integrated, harmonious and disciplined state of mind is perceived as being peaceful, and this can be achieved with the help and guidance of asadhguru like Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra.
Looking at the subject of world peace from the scientific stand point, James Jeans writes, “When we view ourselves in space and time, our consciousnesses are separate, particles are separate, but when we pass beyond space and time, they may perhaps form ingredients of a single continuous stream of life.”
How close scientist James Jeans comes, to Arjuna’s vision of the cosmic form of Krishna! Palaeontologists and other researchers from scientific disciplines, all write that all living things are interrelated and inter-knit. Hence, the Upanishad tells us, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family.
So, it can safely be concluded that entire human society is the expanded form of a single individual Being who is the key to world peace.
