1 Prophet Of Islam & Message Of Peace
Today any discourse on Islam unfortunately leads to a deliberation on terrorism. It is egret table that a religion of pacifism should be linked to violence. That the erpetrators of violence carry it out in e name of religion is blasphemous, eading to coinage of terms such as Islamic Terrorism” whereas Islam cands for peace. Islam is not just the lentity of a religion, it is a path of race and harmony followed by those home God favours. The word Islam comes from the rabicroot Sa. La, Ma. From this root omen three words-Istislam meaning submission, Salamah meaning purity nd Salaam meaning peace. Idiomatically the word Islam is then the combination of all three. It means any person ho submits in purity to the will of Muslim. The Muslim greets another with the salutation, 'Salaam'-Peace. He prays for peace, fasts for peace and gives in charity to gain ultimate peace. He starts a conversation with salaam and ends his prayers with 'salaam'. "Salaam (peace) a word from the Lord, most Merciful," says the Quran (36:5). Hypocrisy in religion leads to deliberate misinterpretation of the tenets of God. It leads to repudiation of Islamic laws of compassion, generosity, benevolence and forgiveness. These form the charter of the Quran. These are the commandments of the Prophet propagated by his family and their descendants for hundreds of years after his demise. In today's context there cannon jihad in battle. simply because there enough or universally accepted to declare jihad. No imam of a mosque, no sheikh or head of an Islamic state, and not the followers of the late unlamented Osama bin Laden of the al-Qaida nor the skulking one-eyed Mullah Omar of the Taliban have ever had any universal religious sanction to lead Muslims into battle. Since the time of the Prophet, there have been saboteurs and hypocrites in the ranks of the Muslim Umami. These are the modern-day terrorists who have unleashed a reign of fear, tarnishing the name of Islam. Verses in the Quran, revealed over 1,400 years ago, warned Muslims against them. Gathered under the heading of 'The Hypocrites' the verses are there for all to read and take heed even today-"They obstruct from the way annihilate them" (63:2,3). The Prophet was poisoned; his on daughter Bibi Fatima was the victima terrorist attack when the door of hehouse was burnt down. The Prophet brother Imam Ali was assassinatedwhile leading a prayer, while his grandson was also poisoned. But the greatest tragedy to befallIslam was the massacre of his youngest grandson Imam Husain, who wasmercilessly butchered by Uzagal-eKuni Yazid, therulingcaliph. Knowing he was marching to his death, Imam Husain advanced in a peacefuprotest with sons and daughters, women and children, family and friends till he was stopped on the sarof Karbala.
