Sharing is giving and can be said to be the greatest investment one can do for one’s welfare and happiness. No other investment gives one as good a return as sharing does. It brings you a sense of joy, fulfillment and a feeling that you are on the right track in the journey of life.
Argentinian poet Antonio Porchia says, “I know what I have given you, I don’t know what you have received.” That makes it clear that our role is to give and share and not to expect anything in return.
Sharing, in brief, means helping the needy with whatever you can do comfortably without messing up your own life and its resources. It means doing an act of kindness that makes others feel better and hopeful. It can be done not only in material terms. Sharing love, sympathy, empathy and even a smile go to make a great difference in spreading peace and happiness.
Therefore, the word ‘share’ can be taken to mean, apart from Sharing, Helping, Aiding, Respecting and Empathizing as well. Given this, one can be sure that one’s life’s mission is fully taken care of, and that all that one needs is to go steady towards achieving one’s ultimate mission of having a fulfilled life.
Let’s remember Mother Teresa’s words of wisdom, “If you have no peace, it is because you have forgotten that we belong to each other.”
