Stress Disappears When We Render Unconditional Service To Humanity

M N Kundu

We are living in an era of stress. There is a gross misconception that stress, to some extent, is essential as it motivates and accelerates performance. Optimum stress is required for shaping us. But how much stress is optimum and harmless? Medically, any stress is capable of causing tremendous harm to our psychophysical system. Most of our stresses happen to be about the future.

The Gita suggests, “The origin of creatures is shrouded in mystery, so is the fag end, only the little middle is known. Why should we then be aggrieved for the unknown future?”

The best course is to do our best and surrender the outcome to the Almighty. Pray for best performance, inspiration and motivation from Him.

Excessive obsession with desires invites suffering and stress. Unselfishness and unconditional love for everybody without any expectation in return uproots all stress and opens the gateway to happiness and peace, irrespective of external happenings. Stress entirely disappears when we render unconditional service to humanity expecting nothing in return and surrender everything to God.
