Good Relationships Provide The Key To A Happy And Fulfilling Life

Deepak Rikhye

Researches have revealed that good relationships keep us happier and healthier. This basically means that the quality of our life, emotionally, physically and mentally is directly linked to the quality of our relationships. But just knowing a lot of people is not good enough.

A question arises -- did scholars really need to pursue this topic, as a research, to tell us the importance of relationships in enabling us to attain happiness? Perhaps not, because many of us might already know this. So why do we regard these relationships as important factors in our lives?

A lovely example illustrates how a businessman leaves home at 0600 as he has to catch a flight. He leaves a note for his wife who is asleep: “Thank goodness you are in my life.”

Building a meaningful relationship does not need hours of effort every day. It is about building trust and never taking one another for granted. It is all about sharing one’s happiness and troubles; you at times do need sympathy from the other person and that relieves almost all the stress you are undergoing. You may be away from each other, but trust and faith is a unifying factor.

Happiness is beyond a relationship, it is a combination which includes your interactions. Therefore the path to a fulfilling life is a fulfilling relationship created by connecting with meaningful interactions.
