Army pays tributes to fallen hero killed in Kishtwar encounter

 

The Army on Tuesday paid tributes to the braveheart who was killed in action during an encounter with Pakistani terrorists in Kishtwar

Havildar Gajendra Singh of the Special Forces succumbed to critical injuries after terrorists lobbed grenades when a team of security forces closed in on their hideout in the district.

In a statement, the White Knight Corps said, “In solemn remembrance, White Knight Corps paid tribute to Braveheart Havildar Gajendra Singh of the Special Forces, who made the supreme sacrifice while gallantly executing a Counter Terrorism Operation in the Singpura area during the ongoing Operation TRASHI-I, on the intervening night of January 18-19. His unwavering courage and commitment to duty exemplify the finest traditions of the Indian Army. His supreme sacrifice will continue to inspire generations”.

The coffin, draped in the Tricolour, was accorded full military honours, with officers and troops standing in silence to honour the fallen soldier.
