Govt Issues New Rules For Determining Seniority In J&K Police
The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a fresh notification revising the rules for determining seniority of police officers under Rule 111 of the J&K Police Rules, 1960.
As per the new order, officers appointed or promoted will take seniority based on the order of appointment or promotion, with direct recruits placed first if the date is the same.
The notification further states that for candidates required to pass departmental courses for confirmation, their seniority will be determined by aggregate merit at the time of selection and in basic training, both carrying equal weightage.
Those who complete training or confirmation later will be placed at the end of their batch.
In case of a tie in aggregate merit, seniority will be decided based on age, with the older officer ranked higher.
