Shesh Paul Vaid, former Director General of Police, J&K, claimed that Pakistan army’s Special Service Group (SSG) commandos, who have infiltrated into India, are behind the recent spate of violence in Jammu region.

In a video message, Vaid claimed that a total of 600 SSG commandos have been earmarked for the task to enter the Indian territory. Out of this, some have already infiltrated and started operations against security forces.

Jammu region witnessed several attacks on security forces and civilians in the past two months. Ambushes on security forces were highly coordinated in which US-made M-4 and Chinese grenades were used.

“For the past some time, Jammu region witnessed a spate of violence. Even Kashmir region has witnessed surge in violence in the recent past. Behind all this action is Major General Adil Rehmani, who is the commander of the Pakistan SSG. He is directing attacks on security forces,” Vaid claimed.

Vaid said infiltration by Pakistan army commandos in the Indian territory was an act of war and should be dealt in that way. “As many as 600 SSG commandos are waiting to enter the Indian side, while some have already entered and are behind the attacks,” the former DGP said.

He claimed that the motive behind the attacks was to engage 16 and 15 Corps of Army based in Jammu and Srinagar, respectively.

“One Lt Col Shahid Saleem has also entered the Indian side and has activated local sleeper cells to help the infiltrated armed groups,” Vaid said.

Quoting sources, Vaid said in a post on X that while some SSG commandos have managed to enter into the Indian side, “the rest are expected to be pushed through subsequently. This is going to be a long haul, and we need to be prepared for anything”.
