The Jammu and Kashmir Police have announced cash rewards for information on terrorists and anti-national elements in wake of inputs that groups across the border in Pakistan may try to thwart peace in the Union Territory (UT).
According to an official, Rs 5 lakh will be given to anyone who locates a trans-border tunnel, used by ultras to cross over to India and to send explosives and contraband.
An amount of Rs 3 lakh will be rewarded to the person who provides information about drones being sent from across the border to drop narcotics, arms or explosive materials and which leads to the recovery of the dropped material.
A similar amount has been announced for those who give actionable intelligence about person connected with receiving drone deliveries or transporting arms, ammunition, narcotics from the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC) to the hinterland or Punjab.
The police have announced an amount of Rs 2 lakh for those who provide information based on which inter-state narcotic modules is busted.
A similar amount will be given to those who give information about persons talking to Pakistan-based terrorist handlers or separatists in jails in India. The information also must lead to recoveries or busting of modules.
Rs 2 lakh will be given to those who informs about persons who are interacting or communicating with terrorist handlers across the border or with their agents within J&K and branding citizens as ‘mukhbir’ (informants) and passing on their personal details like photo, address, movements of off-duty policemen and other security personnel or government servants for their targeting.
According to the police, Rs 1 lakh would be given to those who give information about persons in mosques or schools/colleges who are encouraging, inducing and inciting people to join terrorist ranks.
The police have in recent times have announced cash rewards for tip-off regarding ultras involved in different incidents across Jammu and Kashmir.
