NIA raids multiple locations in J&K, arrests one in TRF conspiracy case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday said its personnel have conducted raids at 11 locations in Srinagar, Kulgam, Pulwama and Ganderbal districts and arrested one accused person in connection with “The Resistance Front” (TRF) conspiracy case.

The NIA in a statement, which it issued in the late evening, said, “Based on the searches conducted today, an accused Mudasir Ahmed Dar, a resident of district Kulgam, was arrested for providing logistical support and transporting arms and ammunition.”

He was closely associated with TRF commander responsible for the recent targeted killings across the Kashmir valley and was also involved in radicalisation and recruitment of impressionable youth at the behest of TRF, the agency alleged.

The NIA said, during the searches conducted today, the personnel recovered and seized incriminating materials including digital devices.

According to the NIA the case relates to activities of the TRF, an offshoot of proscribed terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and its self-styled commander Sajjad Gul, who has been actively radicalising, motivating and recruiting youth of the Kasmir valley to undertake violent activities in the Union Territory and other parts of India.

The case was registered suo moto by NIA on November 18, 2021, it said, adding that further investigation in the case continues.
