Date:- 30 Sep 2020

Suspected militants today attacked security forces at Marhama village in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.

There was, however, no report of any loss of life or injury in the attack.

The militants carried out a hit-and-run attack on a party of forces in Marahama village. The area was later cordoned by the joint forces.

Sources said the forces had a brief exchange of fire with the fleeing militants. Meanwhile, the police filed a chargesheet against four alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants and their three associates in north Kashmir’s Handwara.

The chargesheet was filed against Parvaiz Ahmad Chopan of Shartpora Langate, Mudasir Ahmad Pandith of Zargar Mohalla Langate, Mohammad Shafi Shiekh of Langate and Burhan Din Wani Tulwari Langate (all militants) and their three associates Azad Ahmad Bhat of Shalpora Langate, Altaf Ahmad Baba Babagund Seelo Rafiabad and Irshad Ahmad Chalkoo of Silikoot Uri.

“The chargesheet has been filed for their role in hatching a criminal conspiracy for the terrorist act, harbouring terrorists and giving support to the proscribed terrorist organisation,” a police statement said. They were arrested on April 3.
