Two days after a Hizbul Mujahiddin militant, Tanvir Ahmed, was arrested from the Gundna area of the district, the police got another success today when an overground worker (OGW) was arrested.

The OGW was arrested after getting a tip-off from the arrested militant.

Giving details, the police said Tanveer Ahmed disclosed the name of Raqib Alam (22), a resident of Swanda, Shiva, Doda district, regarding his association with slain Hizb militant Haroon Abbas.

“Raqib was picked up by a joint team of the police and Army. During questioning, he confessed to have kept a pistol and a wireless set, given to him by militants, at Shiva village. He was taken to the village and the pistol and wireless set was recovered,” the police said. — TNS
