Balidan Diwas' observed on 14th September, 2019
On 14th September, 2019, Balidan Diwas was observed by Kashmiri Samiti Delhi, along with other organizations. The KSD Executive Council is thankful to the community and to other organizations which made this Diwas a grand success. Despite a critical physical condition of our General Secretary, Shri Vijay Raina Ji, who is still in AIIMS Trauma Centre, K.S.D. took a decision to observe the Balidan Diwas at Arya Samaj Bhavan, opposite Kashmiri Bhawan, Lajpat Nagar, instead of Jantar Mantar, this year. The community members prayed to the Almighty for Shri Raina's speedy recovery .
Kashmiri Samiti Delhi is the frontal organization of Kashmiri Pandits in Delhi which has been in the seat of Kashmiri Pandits' activism post-1990 exodus of our community from the Kashmir Valley. It has been observing September 14 every year to keep alive both memories of the martyrs and the struggle of our genocide. In the run up to the event Kashmiri Samiti Delhi reached all Kashmiri Pandit organizations, groups, volunteers and common people in Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Noida, Sahibabad, Gurugram
and other areas and the response from the community was commendable. Despite that, some community members went to observe the same at different places
Shri Ravi Zadoo, a well-known community artist, voluntarily, accepted to be the anchor throughout the day and was appreciated by the community members assembled there. Shri Ashok Raina Ji, from Uttam Nagar, was requested to recite holy shlokas, Bhajans and it was followed by paying floral tributes to martyrs one by one in a devout environment in the hall .
Shri Sumeer Chrungoo, President KSD, who is still in shock due to the serious car accident at Jammu, spoke on this day and briefed the audience about the role of KSD which it is performing in terms of unity and diversity of our community post exodus He also mentioned about his meetings with the Mos, Home and PMO and briefed about the deliberations in which the Ministry has assured the KSD delegation that a proper road map for Return and Rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits will be discussed with KSD and other KP organizations after 31st October, 2019. He appealed to community members to have patience and wait and watch the policy that needs to be adopted till that date. He also paid tributes to the martyrs and briefed about the importance of this day
Dr L N Dhar, former President, KSD, spoke on the post-abrogation period of Article 370 and 35-A scenario. He, too, insisted on having unity and coordination among all political and non-political organizations.
The other prominent speaker, Shri Kundan Kashmiri , KPC Chief, also paid tributes to the martyrs and spoke about the post 5th August, 2019, scenario. Dr Romesh Raina, also, paid tributes to the martyrs and spoke about the unity of all organizations to demand proper return and rehabilitation for KPs. Shri Kamal Hak, social activist, paid tributes to the martyrs and also prayed for the recovery of Shri Vijay Raina. Shri Chuni Lal Bhat, from Harmukh, insisted on observing the Balidan Diwas at one place and that too with Kashmiri Samiti Delhi .

Construction of Bhawan
The Executive Council of KSD has already taken the initiative to construct the old and ancient bhawan of Kashmin Samiti Delhi for which Bhoomi Pooja has been done. The Bhawan Committee, headed by the General Secretary, Sh Vijay Raina, was in constant touch with many architects before he met with a serious accident. After that, the President and Vice Presidents Shri Sanjay Kaul and Shri Vijay Bhat have taken the initiative to bring the task to a logical conclusion.

Demise of Avtar Krishan Kaul
Well-known writer, social activist and a visionary ex Editor-in-Chief, Koshur Samachar passed away peacefully on 24th September, 2019, at 4pm Kashmiri Samiti Delhi expresses deep and heartfelt condolences to the grieved family and joins in prayers for the deceased May the Lord Almighty provide the departed soul his heavenly abode and give his surviving family strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss
