Kashmir Bhawan Calling
Dear respected member Namaskar,
KSD wishes you a Happy Shivaratri. May lord Shiva bestow peace, prosperity and good health to all the members of the community.
All of us celebrated the 69th Republic Day on 26th January, 2018. The community, which is in exile for the last 28 years now, has entered into the 29th Still, no solution seems in the near future as both the Governments — Central as well as the State Government of Jammu & Kashmir — have no concrete policy in their agenda. During all these 28 years, the senior members of the community and the young ones are passing away frequently. It shows the quantum of depression, anxiety and the wilderness of the community. This community could not gather any moss as it could not adjust itself to the climatic conditions and non rehabilitation. In spite of all the odds the community is surviving, facing the hardships and the miseries. The Government’s apathy towards the community has given a setback and its hope of return to their homes and hearths looks to be a distinct dream far off.
Holocaust Day
Keeping the above-written odds in view and also a call from the community and KP organisations that in the interest of the unity of the community the Holocaust Day was be observed on 19th January, 2018. There is a saying “Awaz-e- Khalaq Ko Nagaray Khudha samjo’Kashmiri Samiti Delhi changed its legacy of observing the Holocaust Day on the 20th January to 19th January, after calling an emergency meeting wherein the office- bearers and the Executive members deliberated in detail and approved the proposal. Accordingly, KSD observed the Holocaust Day on 19,h January, 2018 at the Arya Samaj Mandir Hall (in front of KSD Bhawan). Most of the KP organisations participated and observed the day.
The main speakers were S/Shri Ajay Kak, C.L. Gadoo, (Ex-President KSD), Dr. L.N. Dhar, Dr. Agni Shekher, Kundan Kashmiri, T.N. Razdan, M.K. Kaul and Ashtosh Taploo. Other dignitaries, who were present, were S/Shri M.K. Machhama, Sanjay Ganjoo, R.K. Bhan and other members of the KP organizations both from Delhi and NCR.
The speakers reminded the members present about the day of exodus and its fall-out on the community. The community was scattered after the exodus. We still bear the pain of agony which happened during the dreadful night of 19th January, 1900, when the majority community forced the minority community to leave its mother land. Tapes were played in all the mosques of the valley whole night and the slogans were raised like Kashmir Mein Rehna Hai, to Allah -ho-Akbar kehna hai, Yehan kaya chalega, Nizam-e-Mustafa, .AsseeKya Gachi, Pakistan, Bataw Roos Baatnev saan.
After the speeches, a march from Kashmir Bhawan to Lajpat Nagar-IV Chowk was organised. In it, a large number of gathering participated. Later, the effigies of militants were put to fire in the evening.
Media, also, covered the story. Time has come now to think about the future strategy. The answer lies with the community members by showing togetherness and unity that we are one and our goal is one.

We are very thankful to Shri Vijay Raina, President, KSD, who was available with his team whole night in spite of the sad demise of his respected father, Shri Moti Lai Raina. We missed Shri Sunil Shakdher who was busy with their ailing parents in the hospital. We prayed for their speedy recovery. The Executive Council of KSD is thankful to all the biradari members for their participation.
We are very thankful to Shri Ramesh Motta for providing the flowers in a large quantity. We are thankful to Shri M.L. Wangnoo for contribution of Vedic mantras and shlokas during the Hawan. I am very thankful to the Staff of KSD for rendering their full support/cooperation which facilitated the smooth arrangements on the occasion of the Hawan.
KSD appeals to all the KP organisations of Delhi, NCR and baradari members to perform annual Hawan only in four districts simultaneously, in spite of performing the Hawan in every Mohalla Area, where KP population is residing. This will save huge money which will be utilized for the medical urgencies of the needy people. Previously KSD was the only organization which used to perform the annual Mahayajnya — since 1953 of its existence. This idea was said by Sh C.L. Gadoo former President KSD and was discussed with Sh M.L. Malla and other stalwarts of the community. Now it is up to the community to act upon. If necessary, KSD will call a meeting of all the KP organizations on the subject.
KSD lost a young, energetic, dedicated social activist, Shri Pamposh Raina on 26th January, 2018. He was associated with KSD since 1990 and had worked tirelessly for the welfare of the community from time to time. He struggled with the Government of Delhi for the allotment of stalls to the unemployed youths of community A straight forward and outspoken person. His sudden demise is a big loss to the community and KSD. The President and the Executive Council members held an emergency condolence meeting in which rich tributes were paid to the departed soul. May God bestow peace to his soul.
