Respected Biradari Members
Namaskar
I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. By now, you must have celebrated Maha Shivratri with profound devotion and dedication, following the sacred rituals that have been observed by our ancestors for centuries in our beloved homeland, Kashmir My heartfelt congratulations to all community members for upholding the sanctity of this great festival However, it remains a painful reality that, due to the inhuman genocide and forced displacement inflicted upon our community by Islamic terrorists in Kashmit, we have been compelled to celebrate this holy festival in exile. Despite this tragedy, our unwavering faith and corumitmend to our traditions keep us spiritually connected to our homeland, and we pray for the day when we can once again observe these festivals in the land of our forefathers As we move forward into the month of March, we eagerly look forward to yet another vibrant celebration-the festival of colors, Holi. This joyous occasion symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring, bringing with it renewed hope and positivity. On this auspicious occasion, I extend my warmest wishes to all members of our community May this Holi bring happiness, unity, and prosperity into your lives. Delhi Assembly Elections: A New Era of Governance As you are aware, the Delhi Assembly Elections were held on 5th February, and the results were declared on 8th February. These elections marked a significant shift in governance as the incumbent AAP government, which had been in power for the last 10 years, was decisively ousted. In its place, the BJP has formed the government with an absolute majority, ushering in a new phase of administration. With this change in leadership, the expectations of Delhi's citizens have risen significantly. The people firmly believe that the "double-engine government"-a strong BIP-led state government working in coordination with the central government-will address long-standing issues that have plagued the city: Some of the most pressing concerns include: Cleaning and rejuvenation of the Yamuna River Ensuring clean and safe drinking water Addressing the severe air pollution crisis Improving roads, traffic management, and infrastructure Enhancing the quality of education in schools and colleges Upgrading healthcare facilities Creating better employment opportunities As a significant number of displaced Kashmiri Pandits have sought refuge in Delhi since the exodus of 1990, we have faced immense hardships due to the negligence and indifference of the previous administration. Recognizing the urgent need to address these concerns, we sought an appointment with the newly elected Chief Minister, Smt. Rekha Gupta, to bring these issues to her attention. During our meeting, we apprised her of the various challenges faced by our community. particularly regarding the problems of Tahbazari (licensing for street vendors) and AMR (Affordable Mass Housing for Refugees). The Hon'ble Chief Minister listened to our grievances with utmost compassion and assured us that these issues would be taken up on priority. We are hopeful that, under her leadership, these long-pending matters will be resolved at the earliest, bringing much needed relief to our community members. Looking at the positive changes already taking shape under the new government, there is growing optimism among Delhi's residents. We firmly believe that in the coming months, the city will witness substantial improvements in infrastructure, water supply, sewage treatment, pollution control, and overall governance. This shift will undoubtedly enhance the quality of life for all its citizens, including our displaced brethren, A Great Loss to Our Community - Remembering Shri Mohan Shah With a heavy heart, I must also share the deeply saddening news of the passing of Shri Mohan Shah, an eminent actor and a remarkable human being. A highly respected figure in the world of television and theatre, Mohan Shah played lead roles in dozens of Kashmiri and Hindi plays, telefilms, and serials. His talent and dedication left an indelible mark on the world of performing arts, and he will always be remembered as a stalwart in our cultural heritage. More than just an accomplished artist, he was a kind and compassionate soul, whose contributions to our community were invaluable. He was also the younger brother of our esteemed editor, Shri Maharaj Shah, who himself has made significant contributions to media and literature. The Kashmiri Samiti joins the bereaved family in this hour of profound grief. We pray for the departed soul's moksha and offer our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. May they find strength in this difficult time, and may his soul rest in eternal peace. Progress on Kashmir Bhawan On a positive note, I am pleased to inform you that the work on Kashmir Bhawan is progressing at a steady pace. This landmark project, which is close to the heart of our community, is moving toward completion, and we anticipate that it will be ready for use soon. Once completed, Kashmir Bhawan will stand as a symbol of our unity, culture, and resilience", serving as a vital space for community gatherings, cultural events, and support initiatives. In these transformative times, let us continue to stand together as a strong and united community. While we have faced immense hardships and displacement, our faith, culture, and traditions have remained unshaken. As we celebrate our festivals, advocate for our rights, and strive for a better future, let us remain committed to the welfare of our community and work collectively toward a brighter tomorrow. Once again, I extend my best wishes for a joyous and colourful Holi to all of you. May this festival bring peace, prosperity, and happiness into our lives. With regards and thanks
