The Neglect that accumulates creates dissatisfaction and acute Distress

If  elected governments continue to look the other way, refusing to respond to the distress calls of the victims of Islamic terrorism, and attempt instead to normalize the tragedy of genocide and ethnic cleansing, then the entire machinery of governance comes under serious question. When people are forced to suffer this neglect-shifted from one transitory camp to another without proper medical facilities, left for weeks without water or electricity in the scorching heat, or abandoned during natural calamities like the flash floods in Jammu-the neglect does not merely deepen their agony, it accelerates the process of genocide itself. The indifference becomes even more glaring when victims approach the courts seeking justice. Our appeals, such as the plea to extend the employment age limit for our displaced youth, are dismissed as "executive issues. “Yet, the same judiciary often ventures into executive domains in other cases under the pretext of delivering justice. Why then are our prayers consistently returned unanswered? This is not an unprecedented plea; courts in the past have entertained age-related cases, issued rulings, and laid down procedures for medical examinations. The only difference in our case is that we seek justice as victims of a well-orchestrated genocide in Kashmir- perpetrated by Islamist forces in collusion with the establishment. For the past 38 years, this tragedy has caused us unimaginable losses, forced dislocation, mental trauma, and existential insecurity. Governments have consistently ignored our pain, expecting us to compromise, reconcile, and forget the grim reality that haunts our community. Instead of addressing our plight, we are marginalized, treated as an eyesore, because we are a constant reminder of the ruling class's failure to provide justice and ensure an honourable, dignified return to our homeland in Kashmir as a separate Union Territory. The false claims of "resolving" our problems-such as recycling the Congress-era scheme of 2008 that provided only about 3,000 jobs to our youth-cannot hide the reality. Since 2014, the present government has failed to create even a single new opportunity for our educated youth, despite the enormous sacrifices their parents made while raising them in exile. The government has not even constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the heinous crimes committed against Kashmiri Hindus since 1986, most of which took place under the Farooq Abdullah governments. Even the distress land sales of our community, carried out under coercion and duress, were legitimized under the PDP-BJP coalition government, when Mehbooba Mufti was Chief Minister. Until then, no such deals could be rectified without the approval of a Revenue Minister. Under her rule, these distress sales were allowed freely, often in collaboration with terrorists and extremist supporters. This continuing pattern of neglect, injustice, and political deceit has left us with no reprieve. We are denied not only our homeland but also our dignity and our rightful share in justice, employment, and security. We still pin all our hopes on the present Modi Government and pray it wakes up to reality and fulfills its promises doing justice.
