Kashmir Bhawan Calling

Dear respected members,

Namaskar and Greetings!

Our nation is celebrating the 72th Independence loo, Kashmiri Samiti Mumbai, had Day on 15th of August 2018 On this occasion, we would like to extend our heartiest greetings to our community members and readers of Koshur Samachar We pray for the well-being of every Indian and prosperity of our great country.

I am happy to bring to your knowledge our progress of the month. As you know, every year the admission season is spread over the months of April, May and June and, therefore, the most busy period for parents of children from the community. During this period, be it schools, colleges or universities, the admission process is on everywhere. Kashmir Samiti Delhi, as in the past, was active and provided support services during counselling.

With regard to counselling for Maharashtra, keeping in view all the odds, due to heavy monsoon rains, our team, comprising Shn Ramesh Raina and Sh Manoj Bindroo, Vice-Presidents, attended the counselling on 19th and 20th July, 2018, to help all the KP migrant wards in their admissions. As every year, this year made every arrangement for the migrant parents and their wards for their comfortable stay We are also thankful to Shri Chand Ji Bhat for his personal efforts in making the wards and their parents feel comfortable Our gratitude goes to Kashmin Samiti, Mumbai, for their noble gesture Our special thanks to the authorities and the staff deputed for counselling and their cooperation and courtesy. The team was headed by Dr Shamilee Solanki Her personal efforts in managing the counselling in a peaceful atmosphere is much appreciated.

We hope that the parents and the wards, who were aspirants for admission, must have by now got admissions to their satisfaction and the wards must have joined their new places of education. We pray for their future success .

Kashmiri Samiti Delhi requests all the parents applying for higher education for their wards having good percentage to block only one seat w the college of their choice Blocking more seats in various colleges deprives other less member words from the admissions. The seats it transferable and go waste. We hope that the parents will keep it in mind and will cooperate with us. This will be a great service to the community and the KP migrant wards.

This year the wards of the community had to face some difficulty in Delhi University in their admissions due to cut-off percentages and were rejected admissions by the colleges they were allotted Kashmiri Samiti Delhi met the Hon'ble Minister of HRD under the leadership of Sh Ramesh Raina, Vice-President and had threadbare discussions in the matter The delegation consisted of Sh Manoj Bindroo, Vice President, Shri PN Safaya, Secretary and the undersigned The delegation discussed many other problems also such as "Prime Minister's Package scholarships to Kashmiri migrant wards of Delhi, admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas to be processed simultaneously along with the usual admission in KVS. in accordance with the orders of HRD Ministry The Hon'ble Minister assured the delegation of speedy and appropriate action. The delegation also met the Vice-Chancellor of the Delhi University and had a thorough discussion wherein a solution was evolved at and the migrant wards were granted admission who were deprived of it. The applications in this regard were sought from the parents for admission purposes.

Enlistment of life members

I am pleased to inform 74 aspirants, who had applied for life membership of KSD, that these have been approved. The House was assured of their being Kashmiri Pandits residing in Delhi only. The membership does not mean to be a member only but you get involved in the day-to-day working and welfare of the community. The members have a great responsibility and have to join the struggle championed by our organisation. We hope their joining hands will add to our rsolve in this fight and make it a success.

Batta Looth

History says that in the year 1931 there was a mass massacre of Hindus in Kashmir and the conversion of religion by force was also at its peak. Not hundreds but thousands of Kashmiri Hindus were brutally killed and the women folk were subjected to rape and killings This year Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch, along with other organizations, observed the day as "Black Day Due to heavy rains the community members could not reach the venue in strength Even then the "Black Day" was observed in all its spirit and variedness After 60 years, in 1990, the fundamentalists, with the help of Pak-sponsored terrorism, repeated and suppressed the Hindu community A mass exodus took place with our people leaving behind their homes and hearths.

Relief

AMR to relief holders has been released up to June, 2018, as per schedule. While 2013 relied holders got this AMR, other 100 families could not receive their AMR due to non- submission of their affidavits despite submitting the affidavits the authorities do make action in time which results in delay. Shanoj Bindroo, KSD Vice-President, is in constant touch with the authorities. It has been agreed upon that the AMR for the month of July will be released soon The President of KSD, Sh Vijay Raina and Shri Bindroo, again met the DC in-charge at present and discussed the delay and have, in turn, been assured that the mechanism for the smooth payment of AMR will be adopted hence forth
