KASHMIR SAHAYAK SAMITI (KSS), JAMMU

KSS, an apex body of Kshmiri Pandit community in Jammu and Kashmir, is a registered organization run by duly constituted body having due representation of their women folk also, is an apolitical entity which functions irrespective of caste or region, through their five member Executive Body selected out of twenty constitutionally elected Working Body Members representing various sectors and adjoining areas of Trikuta Nagar , Jammu. Pt. Suriender Munshi being President, Pt. B. N. Sadhu Vice President, Dr. Daleep Pandita General Secretary, Pt. Rajesh Tikka Treasurer and Pt. Pankaj Bhan as its Social and Cultural Secretary deliver results in these capacities on behalf of KSS for a three year term from 2025 to 2028. The Socio philosophical activities of KSS and their traditional religious service to the humanity are exclusively funded by their self created finances mostly generated through donations from its members but without seeking any financial help from the government or non-government bodies.

Nurturing their rich religious ethos, the devotees of KSS worship Bhagwan Shiv Shankar with their originating belief in Shivaism , Mata Sharika as their Presiding Deity , Shree Sita Ram Jee, Shree Radha Krishan Jee, Sai Baba Maharaj besides other believing deities, which are individually installed in separate temple complexes, all located in the pious sanctum sanctorum of Samiti premises built at Village Enclave area of Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. Carrying forward the legacy of their historic Kashmiri functions observed in accordance to their various important religious days as per Hindu calendar, KSS regularly celebrate Hawans, Yagias, Janam Diwas, Sathapna Diwas, even exclusive ladies traditional functions like Jang Trey and many more occasions by serving their typical prashad like yellow rice with cheese ( Chaman taaher ), sweet rice ( Kheer ) sweet soje dish ( Halwa ) etc.

as per their old age belief and rituals. KSS also regularly organize discourses on various important religious topics as per their historical lineages such as on Shaivism, Vakhs of Mata Roop Bhawani and Saintess Lal Deed etc. By inviting reputed religious dignitaries of the society, Samiti perform all these functions in its premises only, which are exclusively managed and funded by its devotees. Such philosophical activities help in fulfilling the religious objectives of Samiti , creating public awareness about the socio cultural philosophy of Kashmir and percolating down their typical community values to their younger generation besides enjoying the delicious Kashmiri vegetarian cuisine served on such auspicious occasions. Apart from organizing these religious and traditional cultural events quite frequently , KSS also cater to different social obligations by helping and meeting the daily living needs of persons of lesser God and support the educational requirements of economically under privileged children besides distributing emergency medical aids to the needy patients particularly suffered during natural calamities.

Samiti also strive to maintain their distinct ethnic entity by inculcating the spirit of brotherhood among their community by sharing the moments of joy and grief among their members on these happy or sad occasions respectively. All such silently managed activities are organsied out of meager self created funds donated by KSS devotees and quite a few interested pubic supporters. So KSS is always in look out for financial support and request its devotee members to raise funds so as to meet all these types of requirements including running of their day to day temple affairs and subsequently appeal to the general public also to contribute generously to KSS in order to serve these socio cultural traditional and philosophical noble causes inherited by the elite Kashmiri community
