Common Indian political rant
“Don't link terror to any religion or ethnic group" was bellowed by Smt. Sushma Swaraj, Union Minister for External Affairs, in Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting, held 30 Nov to 1 Dec, in Sochi, Russia, in the last quarter of the past year? By this statement at a summit, what does she want to convey to the member countries, which constitute representatives of eight countries out of which three are observers? The main objectives of this international body are to promote cooperation and mutual support among the member states to fight the menace of terrorism, separatism and extremism Since, the Indian administration had been encountering the onslaught of terrorism, militancy on many fronts for the last three decades, the Indian delegation was supposed to be brewed with concrete and tangible proposals to nip the evil in bud. The Indian administration had dealt with Sikh terrorism, Muslim terrorism, Maoist armed insurgency, Naga insurgency and is still handling political uprising and upheavals in one form or the other within their ambit so it is better experienced and equipped with new ideas and thoughts based on dissected volumes of researched documents on terrorism/ militancy, and how to quell such social evil of separatism, extremism and terrorism. This plethora of feedback could have germinated novel ideas and measures which could be introduced to overcome devastating challenges of terrorism, radicalisation and fissiparous tendencies within the member countries and the rest of the world India's emphasis ought to have been expedience of the extradition treaty among the member countries for quick and fast hand over of the culprits to the country of origin without any impediments of human right issues etc. Secondly, each member country should, in broader interest, respect the laws under which the culprit is framed by the count of origin without giving it any politica communal colour in sending the acc back to his country Thirdly, mente countries should not render moral a diplomatic support to terrorist kings who are responsible for violence and incubation of terrorist gangs under ther auspices for launching thesex neighbouring countries .
Evidently, we have the example of duplicity played by China in vetoing at the UNSC against labelling Jash Mohammad chief as a wanted terrorist, when both China and India are the members of the forum, which predicates for cooperation among the countries in bringing wrongdoers to book. Indian origin suspects like Dawood Ibrahim, Salah-ud-din, HM creel, and many others are stuck up in Pakistan awaiting their repatriation for conviction to India. Vijay Mallya, charged for defrauding Indian banks and depriving a section of Kingfisher employees of their hard- earned remuneration against the work done by them for Vijay Mallya's company and Vijay is fugitive Indian as British citizen. These are very ripe issues where thrust ought to have been for the delivery of justice in international forums Instead of that. the preamble of the statement given by the Indian Foreign Minister on such a broad canvass looks too shallow; she was not addressing an election rally or any gathering in India where she has to bat for communal balance.
Unfortunately, within the political circle of India, it is in vogue to rant that terrorism has no religion. By this design of wording political leaders are playing safe for their electoral constituencies. It is jittery for them if they raise their finger against the actual group which perpetuates violence, indulges in money laundering and sabotages or runs a subversive alliance for breaking the territorial integrity of the country The worst drawback of democracy, in the context of India, is the deep-rooted vote bank politics. Social arithmetic in India is so divided in caste and sub-caste, sects, religions, regionalism and languages from centuries, which had been further widened by exigencies of the ruling class earlier and, later, by a new political class that emerged in post- independent India. Congress party too followed the same divide-and-rule formula to perpetuate its governance by enticing the support of upper-caste Hindus, Muslims Sikhs, Schedule castes, Schedule tribes, in particular to reach the magical number 35% votes to form the government. It became a clear-cut motif for all classes of political groups to manipulate the election output at the cost of vertical division of the already fragmented Indian society to a point of no return. To maintain the caste wise, community-wise, religion-wise, components of their electoral vote bank, political leadership pounced upon quota reservation, reserved constituencies and special favours to one community by doling out subsidies on pilgrimage, hosting of tea parties in the fasting month not by the head of the county but by most of the political parties. Even donning of their skull caps and wrapping of red-checked cloth around the neck became routine with them for electoral gains and to prove their secular credentials were their political gimmicks. Now from the date Kashmir terrorism, supported by Pakistan military establishment timed out to be an unending devastating proxy war against India and make it bleed from a thousand cuts, the Indian state has been fighting back this onslaught militarily and diplomatically in international forums. All state craft in the Indian armoury is being used by the Indian Government to force Pakistan to dissuade from breeding terrorism from their soil and refrain from pushing Pakistan trained terrorists into India.
To circumvent any direct reference to a religion for terrorism, a new ploy is in vogue for the last so many years that Terrorism has no religion. Many motor mouthed leaders from various parties gave the same connotation to terrorism and to terrorist groups Persons like Dalia Lama, a spiritual guru, Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister, Sonia Gandhi, Congress President, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Vice-President of India, Syed Zam ina Raza, President, Anjaminu-e-Imamia have subscribed to this argument that terrorism has no religion it looks most dismaying to know persons of intellectual repute propound the same view on terrorism and terrorist who let loose reign of terror across the world. Why, these political figures, authors/academician and religious gurus pretend to be blind to hard facts about the cause of terrorism? Suicide bombers can't be produced merely by giving money unless and until the one carrying the detonators in one's vest is fully convinced and mentally prepared to sacrifice one's life for a cause. Who were the persons that camed the blasts in Bamiyan statue Kabul, Mumbai, UK, Paris and US, killing hundreds of innocent people across the World? Pilots who culminated into air crash in World Towers in US were well qualified with sound financial position and Westemizes growth in their outlook and studies, why they took up violent means and for which purpose and motive? Definitely there must be an objective or purpose or some ideological zeal. So what is that motivating factor that drags even qualified person to succumb to that extremism? One has to call spade a spade to draw the correct analogy in the interest of humanity and its development.
Assuming for political vote bank politics, interplayed for decades by many parties in the country that terrorism has no religion, the imminent question arises why all terrorist outfits are bearing religious symbols, insignia, slogan and ideology as creeds of the terrorist organisations. For example, names like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Harkat-ul- Mujahideen. Al Quade Jamiat-ul-Ahrar. Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamiat, Jaish-e- Mohammad. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Hizb-ul- Islamia, Al Sahab, ISIS Checheny terrorists and Ansar Bait ul-Haqdin are on the meritorious board of the world's terrorist groups. In a similar manner Jehadi groups like Al-Gama'a-al-Islamiya, Muslim Brotherhood and Tanzim-al-Jehadi, in Egypt, perpetuated violence and killed hundreds of foreign tourists and innocent citizens. Jehadi groups destabilised their own governments and killed their own people who opposed rigorous religion-based socio-political structure in their country. Reach of these Jehadi outfits crossed the Redcliff line to incubate home-grown terrorism in Kashmir which was and is backed supported by the Pakistan establishment whole hog for the last less than half a century Gun yielding outfits like JKLF, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, kwan ul-Musalmeen, Al Umar, Al Bagar, Harkat-ul-Anwar with Pakistan-trained youth created mayhem in the valley making minorities soft targets to score their points in waging jehad against infidels in the valley What is the broader objective of these outfits and what political and religious ideology are they trying to emblazon? Why had they been hitting Kurds, Christians, Shias, Hindus and other minorities including Ahmedias? ISIS ruthlessly killed Yazidi men and took their women as sex slaves and exchanged captured women for sexual pleasures among their groups. That means they have some specific purpose to achieve for which these organisations are doing the required fill in the blank.
Taking other parameters of these terrorist outfits such as ideological pursuits and their methodology to achieve the grand objective in account are evident enough to prove their religious dimension. In Kashmir slogans like LAA SHERKIYA LAA GARBIYA, ISLAMIYA, HUM KA CHAHATA AZADI AZADI KA MUTLAB LAI ILA HI ILALAL LA MOHAMMAD RASOOL ALLAH, YAHAN KAY CHALEGA NIZAM E MUSTAFFA were continuously hurled in any anti-India pro-Islam demonstrationS?
Al Quaida, or for that matter, ISIS are uniting jehadi groups of different countries to establish Caliphates to run the social, economic, judicial and political system in accordance with Islam. Radicalised leadership within these groups want to spread pan. Islamism by overrunning all other creeds either by mass conversation or by the barrel of a gun.
The ISIS impact has surfaced in the southern tip of India also where qualified youth are getting swayed by this radical ideology Terror group Islamic State Omar Al Hindi has made a base in Kerala, which is a menace for the state to control. They have total abhorrence for western culture and lifestyle, which ithey term as unholy way of life. So to clean the society all over the World, they want to give the message of Nizam-e-Mustafa to bring peace and harmony.
With all this open propagation, both through religious congregation and radicalization, supported by arms Jehad, how can one draw the line to proclaim that terrorism has no religion. It is either hypocrisy on behalf of the politicians and intellectuals who coin such sentences or they are pulling wool on their eyes or don't want to antagonise a particular terrorist class for obvious reasons Politicians have their own axes to grind but what is wrong with world-renowned spiritual leaders in pouring their wisdom to overhaul, or reorient these rouge class of misguided people?
