Gupkar Alliance leaders have become victims of their own fantacies.

The Gupkar Alliance leaders were hoping that in days to come India will become so weak that the aspirations of such leaders, in controlling the J&K politics and economics, will become easy with the help they will receive from Pakistan and China. but, in practice, these hopes proved to be only their fantasies.

P.D. P. Chief Mehbooba Mufti says that if the J&K and Central governments continue to follow their present policies, India's financial condition will get devastated like that of Sri Lanka. She is unhappy that the U.T. Government's actions have reduced corruption and helped improve the standard of living of the common people. She is oblivious of the fact that despite strong resistance by the Gupkar leadership, India's financial condition is better than of the most nations of the world and it is Pakistan's economy that has taken a back seat even behind that of Sri Lanka.

For 72 years, Pakistan remained dependent on the United States to run its governance. The attack on the New York World Trade Centre affected the Pak America relationship when it was found that the mastermind of the attack was living as a distinguished guest of Pakistan. A lot of funds and material that America supplied to Pakistan was used to promote terrorism, in place of Pak economy. When the American funds decreased, Pakistan turned to its new friend, China. That country, too, provided help for some years, but now it has been telling Pakistan that its own economy is not capable of helping Pakistan to the desired measure. It is now Saudi Arabia that is coming to Pakistan's rescue to help it meet the requirements of the International Monetary Fund. In the absence of the Saudi help, Pakistan can become a failed state. Mehbooba Mufti needs to be reminded that Pakistan's current inflation rate is 13.7 percent while India's it is 7 percent. When the subcontinent was bifurcated, in 1947, Indian and Pakistani rupee were of equal value in the international financial institutions. Today, an American dollar equals 76 Indian rupees and 193 Pak rupees.

When the Chinese forces tried to control Indian territory in eastern Ladakh, National Conference chief Dr. Farouq Abdullah opined that India's and J&K's problems could be solved after holding consultations with China. He thought that since China is a rising financial power it should be accorded higher prestige and that will help solve many national and provincial problems. Passage of time did not support Dr. Abdullah's view. China is showing appreciation for India's action in providing cash and material help to Sri Lanka. China has asked India to increase its helping contribution as Chinese economy has received a setback caused by Covid pandemic and the Ukrainian war. China is the world's second highest gross development product owning country; yet its growth is lower than that of India. That is because India follows the policy of sabka saath, sabkaa haath and not trying to usurp other nations' territory as China does. Nor is India promoting terrorism as Pakistan does.

The Gukar leaders need to keep in view that India has been recognised as the world's biggest democracy where the will of the masses controls the government. In China it is the Communist Party and, more so, its leader, who has made himself its leader till he dies. In Pakistan, for more than 50 percent of its existence, military, and not the civilian leadership, has been controlling the government. If a civil elected leader exhibits his independent views, the army command removes him. In one such act, General Zia-ul-Haq got the Prime Minister Zufikar Ali Bhutto hanged.

That is not the Indian system. India works on the principle of government of the people, by the people and for the people. The Pak governance moves on the idea of government off the people, buy the people and far the people.
