Shri J.N. Kaul, the "founder of SOS Children's Villages of India" and presently its president, has been selected for yet another covetous G.D. Birla Award instituted in the fond memory of Late G.D. Birla, the doyen of industrialisation of India. Two other recipients will be renounced Russian Indologist R B Rybakov, and Kaira District Cooperative Milk Union of Gujarat, popularly known as Amul. The former has written over 120 books on different aspects of India, including its history and Vedic culture.

It may be recalled here that Shri Kaul received the prestigious ‘Rajiv Gandhi Manav Sewa Award for Service to children - 1995’ on 14 November, 1995.

The G.D. Birla Award for 1995 was announced on 11 January '96, by the selection committee comprising Shri B.K. Nehru, Dr. Raja Ramanna and Mrs. Kapila Vatsyayan, which met under the Chairmanship of Shri K R Narayanan the Vice President of India.

Naad and All India Kashmiri Samaj, of which he is the president, wish Kaul Sahib many more such laurels, which he very much deserves for his more than 30 years of dedicated work for the cause of children in particular and for the humanity at large, in general.
