It is a matter of dismay that a senior congress leader and a cabinet minister in the central government, Ambika Soni should get so much emotional and hurt for actor Shahrukh Khan for being detained at Newark airport in America for some time as his name had got popped up in their computers, that she declared a tit for tat for visiting American citizens here. It not only shows her political bankruptcy but hype over a trivial matter as the U. S. authorities cannot compromise with the set requirements of safety measures for anyone whatsoever and whosoever. Shah Rukh Khan may be Badshah Khan, V.V.I.P etc. for the like of Ambika Soni but not for U. S. airport authorities. Such statement smacks of political expediency and appeasement and an avoidable threat to the prospective visiting Americans from a Minster at the centre. It is intriguing that the silence of the Prime Minister on the matter is sending wrong signals across as if Ambika's statement was an official statement of the Govt. of India. She has done a Mahesh Bhat to Imran Hashimi which is sounding cheap especially when the actor has no complaint against U. S; authorities.
