From The Capital PINS Launched
A non-official and non-political organisation known as People's Initiative for National Security (PINS) has been recently launched with Shri AK Kaul as its Convenor. It seeks to build up an informed public opinion on the problems of national security particularly after the recent outrages at Mumbai and Srinagar. P.IN.S will touch upon issues of national importance concerning national security and emphasise how Kashmir problem is intimately connected with the general onslaught against India. It feels the state of India is not adequately prepared or equipped to deal with the situation. The need of public awakening on this account is felt more today than ever before. As a first step, the PIN.S is scheduled to raise the demand of deportation of all illegal immigrants. KSD has expressed full support and assistance to the venture.
Cultural evening at Mayur Vihar
Vasudev "Reh" Cultural Foundation in collaboration with Sri Amarnath Mandir Sanastha Mayur Vihar, Phase-II, Delhi (East) celebrated a cultural evening in the beautiful spacious complex situation on the bank of Sanjay Lake on Saturday August 12, 2006. The gathering was addressed by MATA TULSI DEVI who highlighted the message of Bhagwat Geeta in chaste Kashmiri language. Selected devotional Kashmiri songs (leelas) were sung collectively. Traditional Kashmiri 'Kehwa and Kulcha was served at the end. Besides the Biradari members of Mayur Vihar phase two community members of adjacent locations like Vasundhara Enclave and Ghaziabad also participated in the programme.
Janmashtami Festival Celebration
The Janmashtami Festival was celebrated in Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi on 16th August. The Shiv Mandir Committee organised the function in the Temple premises.
Swami Sham Ji from Bindraban recited the Shalokas from Bhagvad Gita
A large number of devotees from the area and outside participated and sought blessings of Lord Krishna.
Men, women and children joined the Samoohik Aarti and Prasad distribution.
Koshur Milchar Vasundhara Enclave
Kashmiri Pandit Biradari, Vasundhara Enclave, have set a great example of unity. An unopposed team was elected with great enthusiasm among the Biradari. The elected team comprises following:
Shri V.P.Bhat-President, Shri B.K.Raina-General Secretary and other elected members are as under: S/Shri K.K.Kaul, C.L.Razdan, C.L.Pandita, R.L.Rambal, Rajesh Kaul, S.K.Kaul, Pankaj Dhar, P.N.Bhat, Ms. Sunita Kasba, Ms Raj Dulari Kaul.
Koshur Milchar is working on several new themes on cultural, Vedic and milchar of Biradari units.
Zarmae Satam Celebration in Dilshad Garden
Zarmae Satam by KP Biradari was celebrated in the Ashram premises on August 15, 2006. After the participation in Bhagwat Katha for the day was over and association distributed the prasad in the form of fruits to the local gathering. A musical evening was arranged in the Ashram wherein Shri Manuji Bhat and Shri Ravinder Koul of Rohini gifted singers and artists of repute performed. The evening came to an end with samoohik aarti and prasad distribution.
From Dehradun
Kashmiri Sabha Dehradun celebrated Navreh function 2006 at Sabha plot situated near Telpur Chowk on Shimla By-Pass on 16th April 2006. Biradari members were present in large numbers on the said occasion in which the ladies and children followed the delicious lunch. The highlights of the function was to launch the Directory of Biradari members for the whole state of Uttaranchal.
From Ghaziabad
Kashmiri Welfare Society, Vaishali, Ghaziabad held its elections on March 26, 2006, in which Kashmiri Pandit Biradari members participated in majority and elected new executive body constituted the following office-bearers:
Shri O.N.Shangloo-President, Smt Girija Raina- Vice President, Shri A.K.Raina-General Secretary, Shri Sanjay Jalla and Smt Vijay Kaul-Joint Secretary, Shri M.K.Kaw-Treasurer, Shri S.K.Khyhama-Convenor and Shri O.N.Bhat (Shabnam)-Secretary Cultural.
Besides eighteen other executive members representing various sectors of Vaishali and Kaushambi have been nominated to the Executive Body.
Janmashtami celebration
Janam Ashtami festival was celebrated at Tikona Park Shipra Suncity, Indirapuram on 16th August 2006. People of all walks participated the said function. The Park was vibrated with devotional Bhajans and Kirtans throughout the night.
Smt Tanuja Shivpori, President Koshur Milchar, Shipra Suncity along with executive council distributed the Prasad after the Samoohik Aarti.
From Jammu

After completing various formalities the elections were held under secret ballot on 2nd July 2006 (Sunday). Accordingly Shri Maharaj Krishan Jalali and Shri Avtar Krishan Kashkari were elected as President and General Secretary respectively.
From Lucknow
Kashmmiri Pandits' get-together Kashmir Pandits got together in a city hall for a tele a tete over dinner. A magic show by Madan Kundu and songs rendered by Kishor Chaturvedi made the event a rather interesting one, so much so that even a real life brawl on stage, among the organisers, proved to be an entertainer instead of marrying the evening. The chief guest Swarup Kumari Bakshi graced the Dias along with TN.Dhar, K.N.Bakshi, Jyoti Kaul, Amresh Raina and KB Wanchoo Despite the heat, one from the audience was willing to take a break when Madan Kundu took to stage. Dinner was also Zara Hatke Dr. A.P. Tikkoo enjoyed the rice-based vegetarian Kashmiri menu with dishes like nadru, rajma, kheer and appetising salads, The evening ended on a happy note with Lucknowi-Kashmiris bonding over music and magic
