Dear Sir,
In the first instance, I have ventured to write to you as former Sadri Riyasat as your excellency has lately preferred to be called by this name rather than Ex-Governor, Yuraj, M.P. Central Cabinet Minister or Ex-Ambassador.
I want to bring to your kind notice the following lines so that you also come to know how people feel about you and what they say. In the aftermath of the Charar-e-Sharif incident hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits' houses have been torched. Numerous Dharamshalas and temples have been razed to the ground. Your statement quoted that Chrar incident was a "Monumental Tragedy" that has surpassed all times since 1989.
I may quote that since 1992 famous ancient temples like:
1. Kulwagishori Temple, Kulgam (Anantnag) 2. Vetastta Ashram in Verinag (Anantnag) 3. Oma Nagri, abode of Mata Parvati at Umanagri (Anantnag) 4. Shiva Bhagwati temple at Akingam (Anantnag) 5. Gautam Nag temple, Anantnag 6. Ancient temple at Khana Barayian, Kulgam, 7. Temple complex at Gosaiganj, Anantnag and a host of other temples which were revered by Hindus much like Haridwar, Ayodhya, Varanasi, have been burnt after the Chrar incident. Your silence was never expected.
You will be surprised that after the Chrar incident the famous Shiv Lingam brought by your forefathers and installed at "Omu", Verinag, has been smashed and broken into pieces. This Lingam used to change colours. My heart bleeds while you have remained silent on this occasion. After all you have been representing Hindu Virat Samaj. Famous and ancient temples at Deviangan Parbat, and Shiva temple at Bijbehara have been torched.
The original abode of Chari Mubark used to be Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar. Now this is kept in Jammu. Do not Hindus feel hurt? Have you not been performing Puja on Chari Mubarak? How is it that you have given up this Puja too? I would request you to represent all forums, alike. Hindus have felt step motherly treatment from your side. You have visited Hazratbal Shrine but not Tullmulah even once.
Yours faithfully,
H.L. Jad
