Our News Folio - From Jammu - Shopian KP panel for social, religious affairs
Migrants Kashmiri Pandits of Shopian have formed an organising committee to take steps for the welfare of the community, take care of its religious places in the Valley and coordinate social and religious affairs of the Hindus of Shopian.
A Press note, issued by Shri N N Kaul, Chief Organiser, says that the committee is headed by Shri D.N. Kitchloo and comprises Sarvashri ON. Sathoo, M.K. Raina, B.L Razdan, K.L. Bhan, Vir Ji Kaul and Virender Kandhari.
The Shopian community celebrated Zange Trai on March 25. A function was held on the occasion, in which speakers demanded immediate passing of the Kashmiri Hindu Temples and Shrines Bill.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest of the function, J&K State Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla assured the community of his continued support for the fulfilment of its genuine demands. He said that Tirth Raj Kapal Mochan and its properties will be taken care of.
