Dear Sir,
The March-April issue of Koshur Samachar is very fascinating. Articles especially on Saints and Sages are quite informative. However, I am constrained to write that the article on Swami Ji contains some factual errors, though I must congratulate the author for collecting so many details.
Sonakak Ji lived in our ancestral house owned by my grandfather at Sahyar, Alikadal, for more than 14 years. He never moved to our cousin, Shri Shridhar Joo Dhar's house for permanent stay. It is also not correct that he had ever shifted to the residence of Dr. Gwash Lal Kaul, though the place was visited sometimes by Swamiji. During one such visit to Dr. Gwash Lal's house, a photo snap of Swamiji was taken against his wishes which infuriated him and he ran after the photographer. A copy of this photograph is in my possession.
Swamiji had his own way of humbling the pride of higher gentry. He would ask Shri Shridhar Joo Dhar, a senior Conservator of Forests at that time, to cook rice and Dr. Gwash Lal Kaul, the then Royal Physician, to cook meat which would be distributed as 'Prasad' to all those present.

(Koshur Samachar would feel privileged to publish Sonakakji's photograph if Shri Dhar sends it to us-Ed.)
