Letter From Zestha Devi Prabandhak Committee To KSD President
Kuldeep Raina President Zestha Devi Prabandhak Committee 2004
The Zestha Devi Prabandak Committee is highly indebted to you for your kind visit to the Holy Shrine on June 24, 2004. It is well known fact that you have done a lot for the whole community right from the day one migration / exodus took place. This selfless service rendered by you and Kashmiri Samiti will never be forgotten for generations together As you have seen, a number of construction works have been completed by ZDPC Zethyar, Srinagar which include (1) Hawan Shalla (11) Pooja Pavahan (in) Lunger/ Store (44'x18') (iv) Bathroom/toilet block (v) Complete marble work of Lord Shiva Temple (vi) Direct water supply (vn) Electrification of whole complex (vii) Construction of 8 rooms with attached kitchen and bathrooms / latrines+yatri niwas during our short span of time. This all has been possible only by the generous donations of the devotees.
The completion of various tasks in hand and starting of other projects entirely depend upon the donations and voluntary contributions. I, therefore, respectfully appeal to you for a generous donation. Donation, as may be possible, may kindly be sent to Zestha Devi Prabandak Committee on the Account number 11558, J.K Bank, Brain Nishant, Srinagar & 01100050195, State Bank of India, Talab Tiloo, Jammu Through your efforts the Committee shall be in a position to construct the projects in hand including more rooms accordingly for accommodating our brethren who may visit the Holy Shrine from outside the Valley on a nominal maintenance charges of Rs. 100/- It may be added here that all facilities like bedding, cooking gas/ utensils will be provided by the Sanastha Your goodself visited the whole complex and interacted with the people residing in the rooms and other halls. The accommodation does not suffice the purpose, because only 8 rooms for family accommodation could be constructed so far. We propose to construct more rooms, library, Path Shalla etc. It may be added here that we have a water storage problem. We intend to construct a water reservoir having about 30,000 capacity to fulfil the needs of the yatries on the upper portion of the area.
The pilgrims who do not have their own transport facilities have to run about 2 kms hilly terrain on foot from the shore of Dal Lake to the Shrine. There is a dire need of two Maruti vans for transportation of pilgrims and other allied items to be procured from the market which too is about 8 kms from the Shrine.
Lastly I would request you to kindly publish my appeal for donations in your esteemed "Koshur Samachar" along with you comments, on the developments made by the Zestha Devi Prabandhak Committee which you have personally seen
