Vohra To Remain J&K Governor Till Amarnath Yatra

Jammu & Kashmir Governor NN Vohra will be given extension till the end of Amarnath Yatra that will end on August 29, after which the State may see a new face at the gubernatorial post.

After the collapse of the coalition Government in J&K, the Governor is expected to take the reins of the State Government.

The Amarnath Yatra is to commence on June 28 and conclude on August 29 during which it would need adequate security in the terrorist infested border State.

Vohra, who was appointed J&K Governor in June 2008 and given a fresh term in 2013, is among the few Governors appointed by the former UPA Government to have continued in his position in the BJP-led NDA dispensation.
