Three hurt in grenade attack

Three civilians were injured on Wednesday in a grenade attack by militants in the Hanjipora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The grenade attack was targeted at the local police station but it exploded on the roadside.

The injured civilians were taken to a nearby hospital and then to District Hospital, Kulgam. Their condition was stable.

“The three civilians suffered splinter injuries. They were treated and they are out of danger,” a doctor said.

“The militants hurled a hand grenade at the local police station. The grenade landed and exploded on the roadside, injuring three civilians,” an official said

In another incident, stone throwers targeted a police convoy in Pulwama town on Wednesday. The police burst tear smoke shells to disperse the stone throwers, sources said. However, the police denied that any such incident had taken place.
