J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Tuesday said the Congress would emerge as the single largest party in J&K after the Assembly elections and would return to power in the state.
Chairing a crucial meeting attended by former MLAs and district presidents to review the poll preparedness, Mir said the Congress was strong enough in all three regions of the state and asked workers to reach out to people and expose the false promises made by the BJP government at New Delhi and the previous coalition in J&K.
“During the meeting, all members agreed that there is resentment among people against the BJP as it failed to fulfil its poll promises. The Congress is the only secular force which can give a stable environment and ensure equitable development of all the three regions of J&K,” Mir added
The meeting discussed the overall political scenario in the state and preparedness of the party structures and units at various levels.
The JKPCC chief exhorted the cadre to seek decisive mandate for the party. Mir said the Congress would choose deserving candidates and give a tough fight in each constituency to come out victorious for the formation of the government in the state.
