Date:- 09 Nov 2018

The J&K Police busted a militant hideout in south Kashmir’s Shopian district and recovered material used for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The police said the hideout was busted by a joint team of the Shopian police and 23 Para of the Army in the Ramnagri area of Shopian.

“Incriminating material, including explosive devices and things used for making IEDs, were recovered from the hideout,” a police spokesman said.

The police have registered a case and started an investigation.

The hideout was busted two days after a gunfight left two local militants, including an Army deserter, dead in a gunfight in the district.

In Arihal village of Shopian, clashes broke out during a cordon and a search operation on Thursday. The operation was later called off.

Meanwhile, the J&K Police traced a boy in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district and reunited him with his family.

The Kokernag police had received a complaint from Abdul Gani Dar of Bindoo, Kokernag, that his son Mohammad Imran had gone missing from his village.

“A missing report was filed and an investigation was started. After tireless efforts, the boy was traced in Kulgam and reunited with his family after completion of legal formalities,” the spokesman said.
