Terror activities

It is reprehensible that on a solemn festival like Eid, three police personnel including an officer should attain martyrdom at the hands of terrorists in areas of South Kashmir. Another police officer escaped a bid on his life. That the odious but self suicidal strategy adopted by the terrorists that of having no consideration or “offering of any concession” in their unforgivable acts of spilling blood of innocents even on important religious functions and festivals, is disgraceful on the very face of what they seek in vain to “fight” for. This, ipso facto, depicts their senseless, purposeless, futile and bootless aim and objectives which would only spell doom and destruction for them in the very near future.

Inspector Mohamad Ashraf had gone home to celebrate Eid with his family but was killed when terrorists barged into his residential house at Larve in district Pulwama and fired upon him, injuring him critically, and the innocent victim succumbing to his injuries on way to hospital. Terrorists from Hizbul Mujahedeen outfit are believed to have carried out the heinous despicable act. Another policeman, Fayaz Ahmed Shah of Zazripora in Kulgam, after he was coming out of a masjid after offering his prayers and while he was on way to his home, was shot dead.

Likewise, in another terror attack, a Police officer Dalbir Ahmed escaped bid on his life on Aug.22, when terrorists barged into his house at Dairo , Keller in Shopian and fired indiscriminately upon him. Since he jumped out of the window, he escaped imminent harm to his life. SHO Tral, Mohamad Yousuf in Khiram Bijbehara, Anantang was not at home when similar bid was planned to be executed on his life which saved him but his brother was given a severe thrashing. A former policeman was abducted but fortunately let off but not without a bullet wound in his left arm and a severe beating.

None from the Hurriyat and other secessionist outfits and anti India groups have condemned these acts of terrorists against their innocent victims chosen by them selectively and killing them on the festival of Eid, thus turning their families plunge into wailing, weeping and mourning when they, in fact were planning to celebrate the festival with fervor and in traditional way. This exposes the Hurriyat and other secessionist outfits not only across the country but before the whole world that they were deeply hand in glove with terrorists and even passing directives to this effect.

While all these crimes committed desperately by terrorists in Kashmir are despicable and inexcusable by all accounts, all the deep sympathies go with the bereaved families of the martyred police personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police who have been laying down their precious lives on account of ongoing spate of terror related violence in the valley and whose martyrdom would never go without playing its commendable role in uprooting and throwing away the scourge of terrorism from the valley of Kashmir.

That there should be a sudden spurt in detestable and fiendish terror activities immediately after the new Pakistani Prime Minister took oath of office revealed that there was a foolproof projection of the continuance of the same old policy of double standards by the new establishment too and that there was an unbridgeable gap between perception and action. “Two steps forward” by Pakistan in response to one taken by India as propounded by Imran Khan, the new Prime Minister of Pakistan, was only a deceptive ploy, in vain, to hoodwink the international community, particularly the United States, Russia and China.
