Protest Dharna For Rights & Justice

Jammu - Kashmir Pandit Welfare Movement for Rights and Justice (KPWM) started indefinite Dharna at Mishriwalla Camp Jammu. Welcoming the employment package announced by the Finance Minister, the a submitted organizer of KPWM memorandum to the Govt. Impressing upon therein to come out with concrete policy / steps and implement the employment package within a short period with age relaxation of seven years. With regard to Prime Minister's announcements in this behalf in 2008, he said that no practical shape has been given to this.

The welfare movement also demanded enhancements of monthly relief from the present rate to Rs. 10,000/- per month and grant of Rs. 25 Lacs as stipend in favour of those displaced youths who have crossed age bar (above 40 years).

The joint action committee migrants also launched protest Dharna at migrant camp Purkhoo. Migrants from different camps, non-camps participated in Dharna.

The Welfare Movement also declared that the Dharna will continue till the above genuine demands are met out by the Government. In case of failure of the Government, the KPWM will come out on the streets for genuine demands.

Speaking on the occasions Sh. Ramesh Manahnori lambasted state & central Govt. for ignoring the peaceful community thereby forcing them to adopt an agitational path.

Sh. T. K. Dhar highlighted the pathetic condition of educated youths of the community and said the administration should understand the genuine problem of educated youths. Mr. A. K. Pandita & Mr. R. L. Raina thanked the leaders of the BJP Legislative party for raising the plight of migrant community in state Assembly and rejected the appeal made by MLC Vijay Bakaya for lifting Dharna. He stated that the Govt. has failed to full fill the commitments made with the community during assembly election of 2009.

A team of ASKPC headed by its General Secy. Sh. H. L. Chatta, also visited the areas where such dharnas have been started and assured about full support of the organization for genuine demands of community.
