Martand

Jammu: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference in a meeting condemned the statement given by Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani with regard to Shri Amarnath Yatra The meeting held under the chairman in of President Pt. A.N. Vashnavi.

Addressing the meeting Pt. Vaishnavi informed the members about the anti-Sanatan Dharma statement given by Mr. Geelani for Swami Amarnath Yatra which was against the sentiments of devotees. He said Lakhs of people including foreign and visitors are participating in the Maha Yatra to have Dharshan of Lord Shiva in Ice Lingam. He said that the Govt. has kept the Yatra for two months, is not wrong policy but is beneficial to Kashmiri business class who run their business during Yatra period from Pahalgam to the Cave.

Speaking in the meeting Sh. H.L. Chatta, in Gen. Secy. of the organisation said that Geelani/Syeeds/ Muftis are not real states Subjects of Jammu and Kashmir so they are ignorant of Kashmir culture i.e. Kashmiriyat. All these have destroyed brotherhood and Kashmiriyat of Kashmir which we maintained from the ancient times. A ray of which was also felt by Mahatma Gandhi, he lauded With regard to extension of Yatra period by the Government he said any religious Yatra has no calendar and no one in the world can speak against any religion

Criticising the Govt's. attitude, Sh. Chatta disclosed that anti-national elements have installed a hoarding of slogan at Bagh-i Mehatab 'Welcome to Chota Pakistan' -Dog & Indians are not allowed'. He said one side Govt. is assuring return of KPs to the Valley and on the other side such anti-national slogans hoardings are installed that too at the Railway tracks. He pointed out if such is situation in the valley then how it is possible for KPs to return there so it appears the Government's assurance is only eyewash and nothing else. He said both State and Central Governments have failed to save Kashmir/Kashmiriyat. He further said that the Govt. has provided jobs to the educated youths of displaced community which include female candidates also, but it is not now believable that the present Government will be able to safe guard these candidates. He demanded the Chief Minister and as well as the Prime Minister for their statement in this behalf.
