2009 01 From Noida - Tanya - Sweet Trip to Thailand

I was on top of the world when I reached Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi. I was in a group of 12 selected students who had to fly to Bangkok by the Jet Airlines. The tour was a sponsored one. It was sponsored by Nand and Jeet Khemka Foundation which had conducted leadership module competitive test in 2008.

The leadership qualities oriented programme was the agenda undertaken by the organisation. Its agenda was "leaders are not born but made." The foundation had selected the letters of two students from the 9th standard of each school. This process had continued among students of 34 schools throughout India. From my school I was the one who achieved this distinction of getting selected after an interview with the CEO. of the foundation.

Our group of students left Delhi on November 15, 2008 at 10.30 p.m. for Bangkok, reaching there in the wee hours of November 16. After checking in a local hotel we attended a seminar to discuss the core topic of leadership qualities. Thereafter, we left for the Khonkaen province of Thailand to stay with our respective hosts for a few days. My hosts were sweet and very nice. The family I had nestled in, comprised two student daughters, a teacher mother and a doctor father. We saw different places which are historically very important. We met unknown people who were humble and noble. Judging our hosts by their hospitality, we found them warm, affiable and lovable. The main places which we visited were Bank of Thailand, cobra village and Buddha temple. We had hectic engagements and enjoyed the visit which will remain memorable throughout our life. Thailand is called the land of smiles. It really deserves the said name. We developed an intimate bond with the people there. It was a truly enriching and once-in-a-life time experience. I would sincerely like to express my heartfelt gratitude to TGELF Organisation and my very own school for all the chances I got.
