Drone incursions have also increased

The Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu division on the night intervening July 12 and 13. There was no information about the number of infiltrators who were trying to sneak into this side of the border. Lt Colonel Devender Anand, Army PRO, Jammu, said, “During the midnight hours of July 12 and 13, there was an infiltration attempt along the LoC in the Poonch sector, which was suitably foiled by our alert troops.”

While the Indian and Pakistan armies have a reinforced truce on the LoC and the international border since February 2021, there have been infiltration attempts from Pakistan. Drone activity has also increased along the border in J&K to smuggle narcotics and weapons.
