"The Union Government will consider a suggestion to settle the Kashmiri migrants in a township between Srinagar and Jammu. This was stated by the Union Minister of State for Home, Mr. M.M. Jacob, after visiting four camps of Kashmiri migrants in New Delhi today to study first hand the conditions in the camps. He said the township will have educational and health care facilities and will be linked to viable projects for industry and agriculture to generate employment. Mr. Jacob said he will discuss the proposal in the Committee constituted in the Home Ministry recently for looking into the problems of Kashmiri migrants. Chaired by Mr. Jacob, the committee had its first meeting in October. It was attended by Governor, J&K, the Lt. Governor of Delhi, the Union Home Secretary, the Chief Secretaries of J&K and Delhi and other senior officers," (Radio Kashmir, November 4, 1992-7.40pm)
