Injured jawan dies, 7 bodies found in PoK

An Army jawan, who was seriously injured in Pakistan shelling and firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district, has attained martyrdom while bodies of seven civilians have been recovered in Khui Ratta area of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), who were believed to have been tortured to death by the Pakistan army and ISI.
Naik Nishant Sharma of 10 JAK Rifles, who was critically injured in Pakistan shelling and firing on the LoC in Sunderbani sector on January 18, succumbed to the injuries in Command Hospital Udhampur this morning.
“Naik Nishant Sharma was a brave, highly motivated and a sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty,” a Defence spokesman said.
Meanwhile, reports said, locals in Khui Ratta area of PoK have spotted dead bodies of seven civilians, which were later taken away by the police.
It is believed that they were tortured to death by Pakistan army and ISI.
