Swami Ram Jee - A Param Siddha

S K Mam

The Param Siddha, Swami Ram Jee was born on Pausa Krisna Dvadashi  i.e., in December 1853. Swami Ram Jee learnt Shaivic philosophy at the feet of Swami Mansa Ram Monga. The senior most disciple of Swami Ram Jee was Sh Sudama Jee Muskin, who lived in Malapora, HabbaKadal, Srinagar. Swami Jee established an Ashram at Fateh Kadal, Srinagar in the house donated by Sh. Narayan Dass Raina (Father of Swami Lakshman Joo Maharaj). Here Swami Jee lived form (1884-1914). During this period many disciples came to the Ashram to seek his blessings & spiritual Education. During this period Swami Jee performed numberless miracles. Some of them are as under:

Same person at two different places at the same time: One of the disciples of Swami Ram Jee was Sh. Gash Kaul Jalali. Swami Jee used to call him by the name 'Svachchanda Nath' because of his sacrificing love and respect for his guru. Sh. Gash Lal Kaul Jalali (also a saint of high order) was working as Head Clerk in P.W.D. He was residing in Ali Kadal, Srinagar. His daily routine was to leave his home at 8:30 A.M., reach his gurus (Swami Ram Jee's) Ashram at Fateh Kadal, seek his blessings and then to leave for his office. On his return from the office in the evening, he used to visit Swami Ram Jee's Ashram again, stay there for few hours and then headed for his home.

One day, as per routine, Sh. Gash Kaul Jalali went to Swami Ram Jee's Ashram in the morning and forgot to attend his office. Next day he went to his office, as usual and asked incharge attendance clerk to mark his previous days attendance. The clerk in reply said, you yourself have marked taken your attendance yesterday. He was aback by his reply. He again called clerk and said, "Had I came yesterday? The clerk gazed at him and said, Are you alright Sir? Yesterday, did you not ask for a glass of water as well as fruits, which I served"?

With these thoughts, striking in Gash Kaul's mind, still the fear didn't vanish as the English boss used to be very harsh against any kind of Indiscipline.

After sometime, he was called by En glish boss and he went inside his chamber, a where the boss warmly welcomed him. The boss appreciated Gash Kauls intellect and honesty and said, "yesterday the five points put down by you are praiseworthy which need to be implemented". Sh. Gash Kaul, not knowing those five points, remained in a fix. Suddenly the boss began to narrate all those five points.

When Gash Kaul reached the Ashram, in the evening, Swami Jee asked Sh. Gash Kaul, was the arrangement to the full or something was lacking. Sh. Gash Kaul bowed at the Masters feet and sought his blessings.
