Kanika Rane, wife of slain soldier Major Kaustubh Rane, was inconsolable as she hugged their two-anda-half-year-old toddler Agastya after the funeral. Thousands gathered in Mira Road to bid a tearful adieu to Major Rane who was killed in Jammu and Kashmir on August 7 during an operation to foil an infiltration bid at the LoC in Gurez. Major Rane was cremated with full military honours and a 21-gun salute on Thursday.
