Cop abducted by J&K ultras while on way to buy meds killed

The bullet-riddled body of Jammu and Kashmir constable Javid Ahmad Dar who was abducted by terrorists from his village in Shopian on Thursday was found on Friday, reports Salim Pandit.

Javid was the personal security guard of ex-SSP of Shopian S Mishra and was with him in an operation against Hizbul commander Sameer Tiger on April 30. Javid’s killing comes about 20 days after Army jawan Aurangzeb was abducted and killed in a similar manner. He too had taken part in the operation to eliminate Tiger. Javid, who was on a holiday to see off his Haj-bound parents, had stepped out of his house in Vahil to buy medicines when 3 terrorists came in a car and abducted him at gunpoint. His body was found in Kulgam’s Pariwan village.

Militants hurl grenade outside NC neta’s house

A maulvi was injured when he was shot at by unidentified gunmen in Pulwama district on Friday morning while militants hurled a grenade outside the residence of National Conference leader Mohammad Ashraf Bhat in Tral in south Kashmir. The maulvi received bullet injuries. Meanwhile, terrorists hurled a grenade at a CRPF and Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles camp in Pulwama .
