More Terrorists Killed During Modi Regime: Rajnath Singh

With Union Government facing barbs over its Kashmir policy Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh churned out figures to claim that more terrorists have been killed during Modi regime than last UPA Government and also clarified that Government has not declared any ceasefire in Valley, it was just “suspension of operations during the holy month of Ramzan”.

“The number of terrorists killed during last four years of UPA regime was 471 but in the NDA regime ultras killed in the first four years is 619 besides there is decline in attempt of infiltration by 85 per cent. More stringent measures have been adopted on the international borders to stop infiltration by installation of radars, sensors and flood lights,” Union Home minister said while addressing reporters here on the completion of four years of the NDA government on Tuesday. He categorically denied that there was ceasefire in Kashmir. “There is a suspension of operation in view of Ramzan. Security forces are ready to give befitting reply to any attack. We have not tied the hands of our security. Recently, the security forces have gunned down 5 terrorists,” he said. The Home Minister also clarified that government is ready to talk with anyone but “it should be in a conducive atmosphere.”

Singh said that the Government has done tremendous work to strengthen internal security in Kashmir, in north-east and curved naxalism. “In North East Armed Forces Special Power Act ( AFSPA) has been withdrawn fully from Meghalaya and Tripura while partially from Arunachal Pradesh.
