The road opening parties have also been directed to remain alert and use services of dog squads and other sophisticated tools to detect presence of any explosives or IED’s along the commonly used tracks by security personnel.
On its part, the government has already directed the security forces to adopt new SOPs during convoy movement to further prevent entry of any stray vehicle during their movement.
The security forces are not taking the threats issued by the terrorist outfit warning of similar strikes against security forces lightly.
According to highly placed official sources, security forces have been directed to exercise utmost restraint during cordon and search operations in South Kashmir districts to prevent getting trapped in the mesh of IEDs planted by the terrorists to inflict maximum causalities to jawans of security forces.
Security forces have been told to sanitise the hideouts of terrorists thoroughly as they have received inputs that some of these hideouts have been secured by planting IEDs to inflict maximum causalities to security personnel during fierce gun fights.
