The families of two south Kashmir youths, who have been arrested from Deoband of Saharanpur by the UP Police on charges of being JeM militants, have appealed for a fair investigation into the case.
The families claimed both had no militant connections and only a fair investigation could prove their innocence.
Nawaz Ahmad Teli from Kulgam and Auqib Ahmad Malik from Pulwama were apprehended by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the UP Police from the seminary town of Deoband in wee hours of Friday. The arrests come over a week after the Pulwama attack.
Director-General (UP) OP Singh said the youths had been living in Deoband without admission to any course.
