Tipper driver injured after shot at by Army

A tipper driver suffered a bullet injury when shot at by the Army personnel deployed with the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) in Samba district late last night.
Police said that two tipper drivers, chasing each other on the highway near Samba were signaled to stop by the QRT. However, the tipper drivers paid no heed to the warnings and thus sensing some foul play, the army men fired two rounds.
One of the tipper driver, identified as Naresh Kumar, son of Karnail Chand, resident of Kootah Morh got injured.
He was rushed to the district hospital from where he was referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, police added.
A team of doctors led by Dr Ratnakar Sharma, Associate Professor Surgery, GMC Jammu operated upon the tipper driver around 3:00 AM on Monday. He had received bullet injury on chest. 
“The bullet has been removed and Naresh Kumar is still critical,” said Dr Ratnakar Sharma.
Meanwhile, police said, “We have taken cognisance and started the investigations.”
