SFs fear terror strike, decide against lowering guard in Jammu

Date:- 05 Feb 2019

Even after the smooth conduct of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s day-long visit to Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces in Jammu have decided against lowering their guard fearing possible strike by heavily armed infiltrators.
According to intelligence sources, a group of infiltrators, after sneaking inside the Indian territory, is camping at a safe hideout waiting for the right time to strike.

In the wake of Prime Ministers’ visit to the State, the security forces had thrown thick blanket of security cover in and around the venue of the rally to prevent any possible strike aimed at disrupting the VVIP movement.
According to these agencies, several vital installations of Indian Army continue to remain in a state of high alert following reports that infiltrators may strike taking advantage of the complacency after the visit of the VVIP in the region.

To avoid any crisis situation, the Army run schools were closed down along the Jammu Pathankot highway. The perimeter security of these vital installations has been beefed up and round the clock vigil is on to track down movement of any suspected persons in the area.
Ahead of the arrival of Prime Minister, the security forces had spotted suspected movement of terrorists and had challenged them to foil their infiltration bid. In the absence of their foot prints the security forces in the region continue to carry out search and combing operations to check their movement in the remote pockets.
According to intelligence reports, terror handlers sitting across Pakistan have been using traditional routes of infiltration along the International Border to push infiltrators and their over ground workers have been ferrying them to the Valley. Even NIA, probing the Nagrota terror attack case, had earlier briefed Union Home Ministry about the possibility of entry of heavily armed infiltrators via water bodies along the International Border to carry out terror strikes in the region
