Kashmir will never go to Pak: Farooq

Date:- 18 Jan 2019

National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Thursday said Kashmir would never go to Pakistan and the neighbouring country could not even dare to get it.

Farooq was addressing party workers at Jammu, where dozens of locals joined the National Conference. He said Pakistan should offer a hand of friendship to India.

“Some crazy people used to talk about Pakistan, but which Pakistan? I always say that J&K will never go to Pakistan and it cannot even dare to get it,” the NC president added

“I remember the words of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee that friends can be changed but not neighbours. But Pakistan should take action against terrorism,” he added.

Targeting the BJP for not fulfilling the promises made to the people, Farooq said, “They had promised to take the Kashmiri Pandits back to the Valley. I would like to ask the Prime Minister that when are you taking them back?”

He said 10 per cent reservation for economically weaker section in the general category announced by the Union government was to get political mileage. “But reservation to whom? In what? Where? They have not cleared it. It will take them five more years to clarify it.”

He directed the party workers to work jointly for all NC candidates so that the party could come back to power with full majority. Farooq also assured that if the NC comes to power, it would bring the Bill for 33 per cent reservation for women in the J&K Assembly, like other parts of the country.

“We have always tried to empower women. We had given them 50 per cent reservation in medical seats and will give 33 per cent in the state Assembly, if the party returns to power,” he added.
