Traders meet ADGP over safety issues

A delegation of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Wednesday met Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law and Order, Munir Khan and raised the issue of harassment of local businessmen outside the state.

During the meeting, KCCI president Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad expressed concern over the reported attacks on Kashmiri shopkeepers in Rohru tehsil of Shimla. After the meeting, Ashiq said Khan assured full support of the J&K Police ‘as maybe required in this case’.

He said the KCCI delegation was scheduled to meet Adviser to Governor Vijay Kumar on Thursday regarding this issue

A KCCI statement said they were in constant touch with the victims of the recent violence in Shimla.

The Chamber had on Tuesday appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take strong notice of the attacks on Kashmiri businessmen and students living outside the Valley
