Vk Singh In Iraq; Bodies Of 39 Indians To Be Brought Today

The bodies of the 39 Indian workers abducted and killed in Iraq will be flown back to India on Monday. Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh on Sunday left for Iraq in a special flight to bring back the mortal remains of these persons killed by the ISIS in the war-ravaged country.

“The Minister left around 1 pm from the Hindon airbase and is expected to return with the bodies tomorrow,” an official said. The aircraft carrying the bodies will first land at Amritsar followed by Patna and Kolkata where the bodies will be handed over to the family members.

The news of the death of these men was broken External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in Parliament. Sushma had said out of the 40 Indians abducted by ISIS from Mosul in June 2014, one of them escaped posing as a Bangladeshi Muslim, while rest were taken to Badush shot dead.
