Date:- 08 Dec 2018

Terming the Prime Minister’s employment package for the displaced Pandits ‘flawed’, more than 3,000 youth, who are willing to return back to the Valley, on Friday demanded a revised plan for the resettlement of around 3.50 lakh people in their homeland.

They alleged that the BJP-led NDA government at New Delhi and the previous PDP-BJP government have not shown sincerity to implement the components of Rs 1,610-crore comprehensive resettlement package announced by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh-led Congress-UPA government in 2008.

On November 18, 2015, the ruling BJP government approved Rs 2,000-crore package comprising jobs and housing project in the Valley, but no major step was taken to expedite the implementation

Meanwhile, hundreds of migrant youth on Friday held a protest rally outside the Relief Organisation office and sought immediate release of the final selection list of more than 1,500 candidates, which was not being released by the J&K Services Selection Recruitment Board, citing legal issues.
